If you are looking for a healthy, power-packed protein shake, then this recipe is for you!
We make big protein shakes every Saturday morning to start out our weekend feeling satiated and full of energy.
For protein, I’m not big on just any protein powder. Most protein powder out there on the market are filled with sugar, fillers, grains and other unnecessary and unhealthy ingredients.
My recommendations for protein powders are: Collagen Peptides or Fermented Pea Protein (vegan option). Both need to be unsweetened with no added ingredients.
This recipe is a basic blueprint for a classic protein shake but feel free to add or take away ingredients to make it work for you. I sweeten this shake with Stevia but you could also use Lakanto MonkFruit as another sweetener option. It’s sugar free and wont feed pathogenic bacteria.
Side Note: If you are trying to lose weight or are healing your gut from an imbalance of bacteria ( such as Candida Overgrowth, Leaky Gut etc. ) it may be best to limit or avoid the organic blueberries. Although blueberries are rich in nutrients and anti-oxidants, they do still contain small amounts of sugar (Fructose) which should be avoided until your gut is back into balance.
