Taco Seasoning can be a difficult bear to tackle. If you add too much of one thing you can send the whole cascade of flavors in the completely wrong direction. That’s why I’m putting this together for you! It should help with any recipe you so choose. However, here I’m utilizing it in ground beef.
Why I Know My Mexican Cuisine
I grew up in NY State. I know, that’s a terrible way to start this explanation out! However, I moved here when I was three. As I grew up my mother would make the MOST AMAZING mexican food that I had ever been exposed to.
The secret lies in her growing up out west. That’s right, I was born in Colorado! That is the place flowing with chimichangas and burritos! Do you see what I did there? Anyways, my mom grew up eating the most delicious and authentic Mexican Food!
I grew up hearing the tales of the West and how us here in New York simply didn’t know what REAL Mexican food tasted like. Well, except for my family. My mom made the most delicious meals with these types of seasonings multiple times a week.
Luckily, my husband also loves Mexican food. Besides a few restaurants here in NY he had never tasted well spiced Mexican. So, when I exposed him to Cumin, Chili powder and the mix below he instantly fell in love!
What This Works With
Besides in ground beef you could use this in a taco soup, sour cream dip and anywhere that you might be applying a Mexican style seasoning. For the sake of application I’m going to be making a taco meat here.
This taco meat can be used for anything sans the kitchen sink. All in all, I put this on taco salad, burritos, chimichangas, tacos, and a host of other wonderful dishes. The meat should be spiced perfectly to blend in with Guacamole and salsa.
Within the weeks to come I will be sure to post my guac and salsa recipes. Lastly, I’ll be posting one of my favorite gluten free dinners with this taco seasoning recipe, TACOS!! Seriously, I can’t wait for you to combine the above ingredients for one of the most delicious recipes of your life!
I sincerely hope that you enjoyed this recipe! You can count on a recipe for tacos to be paired with this. Along with that I’ll show you how to make guac and season it well!!
Don’t forget to leave a comment to let me know what you thought of this recipe and my others!
