In light of the fact that we are less than one week away from Saint Patrick’s Day I thought I would share a healthy GREEN smoothie with you!
I am so excited to share this recipe with you! I first started making simple green smoothies when I went through my vegan phase a few years back. I made them almost every morning and used a variety of fruit, and greens.
This recipe has a very special place in my heart as it tastes very similar to the green juice I always get when visiting our favorite juice shop, Juice Generation in Manhattan, NYC. However, being that it’s a smoothie, it’s a bit heartier than a juice. It contains all the beautiful vegetable fiber.
I did make one modification from my original recipe. Since I now avoid fruit for the most part, unless it is in season, this smoothie does not contain any fruit. This might seem crazy! So I created my own delicious green smoothie version you can enjoy anytime that is both cleansing and detoxifying. I also add a little coconut oil as it helps your body to better absorb all the delicious greens in the smoothie.
